Two Great Promises That Empower You to Fulfill the Great Commission in Your Center

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Sharing the gospel has become more challenging as the world becomes more chaotic. This can lead to frustration and discouragement for many believers in fulfilling Christ’s mission.

Fortunately, God has given you two great promises within the Great Commission. These promises serve as bookends for the command by encouraging and supporting you as you carry it out.

Promise 1: Christ’s Authority

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…”

Authority means “the right and power to do something without hindrance.” Christ has authority over everything in the physical and spiritual worlds. This is a source of comfort as you share the gospel with your clients knowing that:

  • There is no person He cannot reach
  • There is no darkness He cannot dispel
  • There is no obstacle He cannot overcome
  • There is no heart He cannot soften

While some of your client’s lives may seem out of control, Jesus is in control and has brought them to you as His witness.

Promise 2: Christ’s Presence

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

As you pursue the Great Commission in your center, you are accompanied by a Great Companion: The Lord Jesus Himself. Just as a parent’s presence can calm a child’s fears, Christ’s presence brings comfort and confidence as you share with your clients.

Because Jesus is with you:

  • You are never alone
  • You can trust Him to guide us and open doors of opportunity
  • You can draw strength and boldness from Him
  • You can rely on Him to do what you cannot, to open hearts and minds
  • You can leave the results in His hands

Jesus’s authority and presence make His mission possible. He is in control and is with us wherever you go, including when you are sharing with clients. All you need to do is trust and obey.
